GONZALES — A Gonzales man was arrested in connection with a string of vehicle burglaries.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to a reported vehicle burglary around 6:20 a.m. on Monday. The subsequent investigation led them to identify several more vehicles that had been broken into, and deputies identified Drew Alexander, 18, as a suspect.

Deputies recovered some of the stolen property before arresting Alexander and booking him into the Ascension Parish Jail.

He faces six counts of criminal trespass, four counts of simple burglary, two counts of attempted simple burglary and one count of theft of a firearm.

The sheriff's office said additional arrests may be made.
