BATON ROUGE - Southern quarterback Christian Johnson and running back Trey Holly were named to the SWAC Player of the Week list after Southern's win over Louisiana Christian.

Johnson was named Newcomer of the Week. He completed 16 of 22 passes for 172 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 27 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Holly was named the SWAC's Offensive Player of the Week. He rushed for a career-high 206 yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns.

Southern is now 2-2 on the season and will prepare for conference play this week. The Jags open their SWAC schedule with a rivalry matchup at Jackson State on Saturday.
