CENTRAL — The Central Police Department issued a statement on Tuesday warning residents about the safety concerns of driving illegally squatted vehicles. 

Central Police warned in a Facebook post that if a resident is caught driving a vehicle with a front fender that is six inches higher than the rear, they will receive a ticket and be towed. 

Police say that illegally modified vehicles hinder the driver's ability to see the road and make the vehicle unsafe. 

"It's not about the young adults having a nice ride or the work they put into them, it's about safety. It's always been about the 'what if a child runs into the street?' You will not be able to see them. Tragedy could occur," the post said. 

Central police are asking parents to educate their children on these safety concerns and to not allow these types of vehicles on the road.
