ST. GABRIEL — Iberville Parish deputies arrested an Elayn Hunt Correctional Center lieutenant for allegedly talking to an inmate over the phone.

Sheriff Brett Stassi said Shunnikquer Goulden, 24, of Baker, communicated with the inmate and failed to report the contraband phone.

According to the Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Goulden was a lieutenant who had been working at Elayn Hunt since June 24, 2024. She reportedly resigned the day of her arrest.

She was booked into the Iberville Parish Jail on a malfeasance in office charge.
