BATON ROUGE — A man is dead, and his 3-year-old child is critically injured after a fatal crash in Baton Rouge just before midnight, officials told WBRZ on Monday.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office and Baton Rouge EMS responded to Blount Road near Tallow Drive at 11:52 p.m. Sunday.

The child was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, while his father was pronounced dead at the scene, officials told WBRZ.

Family identified the man as 44-year-old Brandon Square.
