Sunday PM Forecast: No major rainmaker the next seven days, heat the main story
The new workweek will look a lot different than the last one. No major rainmaker is in the forecast the next seven days. As a result, heat and humidity will be the main headlines.
Tonight & Tomorrow: Overall, it will be a fairly quiet night with lows near 77° under partly cloudy skies. Not much will occur in the skies to start off the workweek. We will only observe a 10% coverage of rain, meaning 90% of the 13 parish, 2 county wide viewing area will stay bone dry. Highs will climb into the mid-90s under mostly sunny skies. While it will feel humid, latest model guidance indicates our heat index might fall just shy of heat advisory criteria. Regardless, still drink plenty of water, and take breaks if you feel yourself getting overheated.
Up Next: Get ready for a dry and hot weather pattern. While it will not be impossible to run across a stray shower or storm over the next seven days, that will be the exception and not the norm. All week long, highs will get close to the mid-90s, with lows in the mid-70s. Humidity will be a constant factor, with a peak heat index of 105-108° possible. Stay cool!
The Tropics: No tropical cyclone formation is expected across the Atlantic Basin during the next seven days.
