The weekend will stay hot with limited rain chances across south Louisiana. A wetter pattern is expected to develop early next week, while the tropics remain something to watch. 

Today and Tonight:  Saturday will be hot and mostly dry across south Louisiana, with only a few isolated showers or thunderstorms possible. Highs will reach the lower 90s, with heat index values approaching advisory levels in spots.

Up Next: Sunday will bring another hot day with only a limited chance for an afternoon shower or thunderstorm. Rain chances increase Monday and Tuesday as deeper moisture returns, bringing more afternoon storms and the potential for heavy rain, frequent lightning, and a few strong wind gusts.

Tropics: A weak area of low pressure in the northern Gulf has a low chance of development, but it could help increase rain and storm chances as it slowly moves westward early next week. Tropical waves will also need to be monitored as the overall pattern becomes more favorable for moisture to move toward the Gulf Coast.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Dolly are moving toward the Caribbean and are not expected to redevelop. Heavy rain and gusty winds are expected over the northern Islands. The NHC will continue to monitor the system.
