GONZALES - If you are looking for a great time in Ascension Parish, the 5th annual Krewe of Ascension Mambo parade in Gonzales is happening this weekend!

On Saturday, you can catch the parade along the route, which begins at Irma Boulevard and East Cornerview and ends at Highway 30, starting at 2 p.m.

The Krewe said it is prioritizing safety, with the hopes of creating a safe and family-oriented environment.

"As the parade progresses, please be respectful when bands and dance groups are marching down the street. Refrain from blowing smoke or creating other disturbances that may interfere with their performance," the Krewe said in a Facebook post. "Please also be mindful of the music being played, as children and elderly community members are present throughout the parade route. Any form of misconduct will not be tolerated. The GPD, along with several other law enforcement agencies, will be fully deployed and actively monitoring all areas to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees."
