BATON ROUGE - The 19th JDC along with other local courts, Public Defenders Office, District Attorney's office and more are partnering with the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for a free expungement clinic Friday.

"This event is designed to assist individuals with outstanding bench warrants by offering them a chance to resolve their legal issues in a supportive and non-judgmental environment," the CJCC said. "In addition, we will be providing free expungement consultations for those interested in learning about the possibility of removing past charges from their record."

The agencies will be addressing over 100,000 outstanding non-violent felony, traffic and misdemeanor warrants in the region.

Councilwoman Carolyn Coleman will be donating the funds for the free expungement clinic.

"We are trying to help the people of this community live a safer, better life. We are expecting over 400 people to the courthouse," the CJCC said.

The event will be held from noon to 5 at three locations: the 19th Judicial District Court and East Baton Rouge Parish Family Court at 300 North
Boulevard, Baton Rouge City Court at 223 St. Louis Street and City Hall at 222 St. Louis Street.
