BATON ROUGE — Following the morning evacuation of Tara High School, local authorities are now saying there is no threat on the school's campus. 

The school was placed on lockdown around 11 a.m. and then evacuated after reports of a potential threat on campus were called to local authorities. East Baton Rouge Parish School System officials enacted 

BRPD Public Information Officer L'Jean McKneely told WBRZ that all district safety protocols were enacted. 

Students reported hearing what they believe sounded like a gunshot. Authorities have not confirmed a gun was fired on campus. 

Several East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office and BRPD units responded to the school shortly after the lockdown.
