Plaquemine Senior High receives threat; Iberville deputies investigating, increasing presence on campus
PLAQUEMINE — Iberville Parish deputies are investigating a threat made to Plaquemine Senior High School over the weekend, resulting in an increased law enforcement presence at the school on Monday.
According to the school, administrators were notified of the threat, and they immediately reported it to the sheriff's office.
The student who made the threat will not be on campus, school officials said.
"We take any and all threats against our schools, students, and staff very seriously and will take appropriate action. The individual responsible for the post has been identified, and IPSO is addressing the matter from a law enforcement perspective," administrators said on Facebook.
The increased law enforcement presence at the high school is being done as an additional precaution, officials added.
