BATON ROUGE — A stretch of River Road is closed until Wednesday night, according to Baton Rouge city officials. 

The area between Oklahoma and Haig Streets was shut down at 7 a.m. on Tuesday and is expected to reopen by 7 p.m. on Wednesday. 

According to a city closure permit, crews are working on an emergency sewer repair and asphalt restoration. 

The city recommends Oklahoma Street and W. McKinley Street as detour routes.
