BATON ROUGE — A stretch of South Flannery Road will be closed starting on Tuesday for a bridge replacement project.

The closure will run from Old Hammond Highway to Goodwood Boulevard, according to city-parish officials.

The road is expected to remain closed for the rest of the year.

The bridge replacement is part of the first phase of the Old Hammond Highway Project. In phase two, crews will build a new roundabout at South Flannery.
