BAKER — A legal battle between Baker schools and the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education is over, The Advocate reported.

BESE has declared its vote to take over Baker Heights Elementary School and Baker Middle School "null and void." The vote was originally taken in March 2025.

The vote was challenged on the grounds that BESE did not give proper public notice. An appeals court ruled against BESE.

BESE has also agreed to pay more than $11,000 to Baker schools for attorney fees and court costs.
