PONCHATOULA - Police officers in Ponchatoula arrested two people accused of a February attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery.

The Ponchatoula Police Department said officers searched a home for 20-year-old Jamal Griffin Monday evening. Though he was not found, police reported he was arrested Tuesday morning.

Officers got a second warrant for a home in Tickfaw and arrested 19-year-old Jaeson Nelson Monday night, who was wanted on the same charges. 

"Chief Layrisson would like to thank the public and all assisting agencies for their help in this matter," the PPD said.
