PINEVILLE — The Pineville Police Department is asking for the community's help to solve a unique crime: the attempted theft of over $100 worth of crawfish tails from a supermarket.

In a social media post on Wednesday, authorities lightheartedly dubbed the incident "The Crawfish Caper," reporting that a woman allegedly attempted to conceal multiple bags of the seafood and leave the store.

Officials with Pineville's Criminal Investigations Bureau are asking anyone who recognizes the woman in the surveillance photos or has information regarding the incident to contact the Pineville Police Department at 318-449-5652.
