BATON ROUGE — An 18-year-old LSU student was arrested after allegedly threatening to "shoot up the school," which resulted in the governor and other public officials being evacuated during Skip Bertman's memorial ceremony.

According to LSU Police, officers received information of the threat posted to Instagram around 8 p.m. on Tuesday. University police said that Devriana Thomas posted a picture from inside the Student Union with the text "im bout to shoot up the school im so irritated." 

Thomas later told LSUPD officers she posted the image because she "was aggravated about not being able to receive a package at the Student Union." 

Thomas, who is originally from LaPlace, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on terrorizing and menacing charges. 

The threatening social media post resulted in campus being placed on high alert and several people, including Gov. Jeff Landry, East Baton Rouge Sheriff Sid Gautreaux, First Lady Sharon Landry and Mayor-President Sid Edwards, evacuating from the Pete Maravich Assembly Center during Tuesday's memorial service for Bertman, who died last week.
