BATON ROUGE - The LSU AgCenter Dairy Store has churned out the last batch of ice cream in their historic building.

The Dairy Store, which has been at the corner of South Stadium and Tower drives since 1956, is set to move around the corner to the Food Science Building in January. It will be there temporarily as the creamery is torn down and a new OLOL Health Interdisciplinary Science Building will be established.

On Oct. 13, the Dairy Store made the last 400 gallon batch of ice cream in the current spot. The AgCenter says the Dairy Store will have a spot in the new science building with more space and updated equipment.

Managers said the new setting will be similar to Panera Bread's location in Patrick F. Taylor Hall and assured customers that all 16 flavors—plus milks and cheeses—will still be on the menu.
