'I was about to die and they saved my life': Coach O speaks on recovery in OLOL promo
BATON ROUGE — Coach Ed Orgeron spoke about his health scare in a new promo from Our Lady of the Lake.
Orgeron, who was hired back onto the LSU staff in May, missed multiple games this season due to unspecified health reasons.
In August, Lane Kiffin said during a press conference that Coach O was sent home because he "wasn't feeling real well." Orgeron missed two games, and in September, Kiffin called said the situation "was a little bit scary."
In a video released by OLOL, Orgeron said he was happy to be at an event with "all the people that helped me live that night."
"I was about to die and they saved my life, and I'm very, very grateful for that," Orgeron said.
Orgeron did not give specifics on his condition and what happened, but said that doctors at Our Lady of the Lake came to his house on a Saturday and Sunday to help him recover.
