BATON ROUGE - Governor Jeff Landry and East Baton Rouge Sheriff Sid Gautreaux were among those escorted out of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center due to a "credible threat" to the LSU campus, officials said.

Gautreaux said that the FBI had a "credible threat to campus." First Lady Sharon Landry and Mayor-President Sid Edwards were also escorted out of the PMAC.

All of them were at the PMAC for Skip Bertman's Celebration of Life. All knew about the threat toward the end of the program, and security staff let them stay through it, according to officials.

LSU issued a statement saying that the LSU Police Department was notified of a threat directed toward the campus that had been posted on social media around 8 p.m.

Officials say they identified the individual believed to be responsible and took the person into custody. There is not an active or credible threat to the campus community at this time.
