Denham Springs' Spring Park one step closer to opening path to historic namesake springS
DENHAM SPRINGS — Denham Springs' Spring Park is one step closer to reopening a safe access path to the historic namesake springs of the town thanks to a community collaboration.
A key step, new tables being delivered, was completed Tuesday.
"This milestone is a true testament to our community coming together to make this vision a reality," the city said in a statement.
The project itself consists of a safe, ADA-compliant walkway to one of the Springs, landscaping, six ADA-accessible picnic tables and four benches, the city said.
This project from the Spring Park Group aims to "reopen the path to our past: safe access to the historic Springs of Denham Springs."
Architectural firm Alvin, Fairburn and Associates set the stakes for the project, and Richard Price Contracting handled the dirt work to prepare the site for visitors.

Other partners on the project include the L. King Company placing and finishing the concrete for the site, and Sorrento Lumber providing the concrete materials. Superior Steel also fabricated custom railings for the stairs along the path.
"Things have really been busy on site as our incredible local partner stepped in to bring everything together," the city added.
