BATON ROUGE - With the impending rain in the forecast for Friday, several area teams had their games moved to Thursday night.

In the rescheduled tilts, St. Michael beat Scotlandville 45-13, while Denham Springs took down Live Oak 35-17.

Denham Springs struck first in the Battle of Highway 16 when Tanner Koerner found the endzone to make it 7-0.

Live Oak responded on the ensuing drive. After a deep pass from Chase Matthews to Cash Davis to get the Eagles in the red zone, Live Oak capped off the drive with a field goal.

The Yellowjackets would add a rushing touchdown in the second quarter by Jeremy Williams, and Andre Adams connected with Trey Seals for another score.

Over in Scotlandville, St. Michael got off to a roaring start with 38 unanswered points to open the game.

The first Scotlandville touchdown of the game came on a somewhat magical throw from Keaven Grows to Caleb Harvey. Grows had trouble handling the snap, and had to evade some St. Michael pressure, but he was able to find Harvey, all by himself, downfield.
