BAKER — The City of Baker School System is producing a series detailing events that occurred in the school system since 2024, the superintendent announced Wednesday in a Facebook post. 

Baker Heights Elementary School and Baker Middle School had previously received "F" ratings for four consecutive years, which meant the schools had the possibility of being taken over by the Recovery School District. 

The Baker School Board later voted to shut the schools down for the 2025-2026 school year. 

The school system plans to detail its side of the story in the upcoming weeks. 

"This series is not intended to revisit conflict. It is intended to provide clear information directly to our community so that families, employees and stakeholders can better understand where we have been, where we are today, and where we are going," the Facebook post read.
