ADDIS — A 7-year-old girl died in the hospital following a domestic disturbance at a home in Addis.

According to Addis Police, officers were dispatched to a home along La. 1 South after receiving reports of an unresponsive child around 9:47 p.m. on Wednesday. The child was quickly taken to a local children's hospital, where she later died.

The West Baton Rouge Chief of Forensic Investigations, Sahajda "Doc" Willis, identified the 7-year-old as Paris Williams.

Members of the community say Williams will truly be missed, describing her as one of a kind.

"She was a butterfly, you know everywhere she went, she just shined. She just made you love her, she was loveable. We are going to miss her," one community member said.

During their investigation, police learned that a physical altercation had taken place just before the child had a medical emergency, with detectives saying that evidence was consistent with a domestic disturbance. The incident also resulted in a woman being injured and hospitalized, police added.

Many in the neighborhood told WBRZ they were shocked to hear about what happened.

"Back here they don't ever have this problem, none at all, very quiet. I barely know my own neighbors; they speak, I speak. They don't speak, I don't speak; that's how that goes," another community member said.

Officials confirmed Christopher Butler, 33, is wanted for two counts of felony domestic abuse battery - child endangerment and one count of second-degree murder. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact the Addis Police Department.
