Communities throughout Baton Rouge and the surrounding parishes come together to honor Independence Day with a blend of patriotic traditions, local culture, and summertime fun.

Whether you're looking for a spectacular fireworks display over the Mississippi River, a small-town celebration on the bayou, or a full day of food, music, and family activities, there are plenty of ways to celebrate America's birthday throughout the region. The events below highlight many of the Fourth of July celebrations taking place across Louisiana’s Capital Region and are intended to serve as a helpful guide for planning your holiday weekend.

STARS & STRIPES: A CELEBRATION AT CONWAY

DONALDSONVILLE INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
Friday, July 3 | 4 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Held at Crescent Park along the Mississippi River levee. The family-friendly event will feature food vendors, live music, and a grand fireworks show over the river at dark.

KENILWORTH INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE
Friday, July 3 | 6:30 p.m. Parade Rolls
The route begins and ends at Kenilworth School on Boone Drive and runs about two miles through the Kenilworth neighborhood. LOUISIANA OLD STATE CAPITOL: 4TH OF JULY EXTRAVAGANZA
Saturday, July 4 | 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
The free, family-friendly event transforms the iconic castle into the perfect Independence Day destination with games, karaoke, crafts, and more for all ages. And while you’re there, don’t miss a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get an up-close view of the original Louisiana Purchase document signed by Napoleon Bonaparte, on display at the Old State Capitol through July 11.

JULY 4TH CELEBRATION BY BAYOU ARTISAN OASIS
Saturday, July 4 | 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Bayou Artisan Oasis on Coursey invites you to celebrate America’s 250th birthday by supporting the entrepreneurial spirit that built our great nation. Over 30 local artists, chefs and vendors will be showcasing their skills. There will also be live music and a shaded seating area.

AMERICA 250 ON THE RIVER CONCERT
Saturday, July 4 | 2 p.m.
Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser and the Louisiana America 250 Commission, alongside East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Sid Edwards, the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge and Visit Baton Rouge, are hosting the event at Repentance Park, located between the Old State Capitol and the Raising Cane's River Center.
The Military Concert Band opens at 2:15 p.m. with patriotic favorites honoring the nation's military heritage.
Fiddler and singer Amanda Shaw takes the stage at 3:30 p.m., followed by Rockin' Dopsie Jr. & The Zydeco Twisters at 5 p.m. Actor and country singer John Schneider, best known for his role as Bo Duke on The Dukes of Hazzard, performs at 6:30 p.m.
Grammy Award-winning musician Wayne Toups closes out the concert at 8 p.m. Toups is widely recognized as the "King of ZydeCajun" and has been one of Louisiana's most influential performers for more than four decades.

ROCKING ON THE RIVER 2026
Saturday, July 4, 2026 | 3 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Held at the Riverfront Plaza, located at 300 S. River Road in downtown Baton Rouge. Highlights include live music, food vendors, local vendors, and a Kids Market. Admission is free and will lead into the WBRZ Fireworks on the Mississippi.

4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION CONCERT
Saturday, July 4 | 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
The Baton Rouge Concert Band will hold its annual 4th of July Celebration Concert on the Plaza at the Main Branch of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library, located at 7711 Goodwood Boulevard in Baton Rouge. This free, family-friendly event features a selection of patriotic classics, marches, and tributes to celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th anniversary. The concert will be a free, open-air performance featuring American classics, Big Band, and marches. Guests are advised to bring their own lawn chairs and refreshments.

FIREWORKS ON THE MISSISSIPPI
Saturday, July 4 | 9 p.m.
WBRZ's Fireworks on the Mississippi is an evening-long event. If you can't make it to the river, WBRZ.com will broadcast the fireworks show, and the show will also be streamed live on the WBRZ Channel 2 Facebook page. The live stream will start shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday.

CITY OF WALKER 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION
Saturday, July 4 | 5 p.m. - Dark
It will be an unforgettable night at Sidney Hutchinson Park, located at 13750 Ball Park Road in Walker, featuring live music, food trucks, vendor market, Kids Village, and fireworks. Admission is free and no pets, outside food, or drinks will be permitted.

PATRIOT’S RV RESORT AMPHITHEATER CONCERT - SATSUMA
Saturday, July 4 | 11:30 a.m.
Celebrate Independence Day at Livingston Parish’s newest destination. The Grand Opening Celebration will include an evening of live music, family fun, and a spectacular fireworks show at the Patriots Amphitheater. The concert features opening acts, Cloe Harrison and Madelynn Johnston; Headliners are Shawn Allen and Titanium Rain.
Admission is free for Patriot’s RV guests and the public. Please note: Public access is limited to the amphitheater concert area only and does not include access to the water park.

TOWN OF SPRINGFIELD 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION
Sunday, June 28 | 4:00 p.m.
The Town of Springfield’s annual 4th of July Celebration will feature a fireworks show, food, vendors, and family activities. The event will take place at the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department, located at 27378 Hwy 42.

PORT ALLEN: JULY 4TH FEST
Saturday, July 4, 2026 | 5 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Held in downtown Port Allen at the Riverfront on the Mississippi River Levee.
The fun starts at 5:00PM and ends at 10:30 p.m., with fireworks at 9:00 p.m. Free to the public and includes face painting, magicians, clowns and space walks for children. Beverage and food vendors will line the levee for all to enjoy. Live entertainment with several local bands. Brought to you by WBR Parks & Recreation and the City of Port Allen.

MORGAN CITY 4TH OF JULY LAKE BASH
Saturday, July 4 | 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Celebrate Independence Day at Lake End Parkway with food trucks, live music, and a fireworks finale over the water.
