Positively BR Episode 3: Sci-fi collectibles, a new crown chase and a wild One Tank Trip

BATON ROUGE- What if growing up didn’t mean leaving your favorite things behind?
The third episode of WBRZ’s digital lifestyle show, “Positively BR,” takes viewers inside the sci-fi collection of a Baton Rouge man who has turned his childhood interests into an impressive collection of memorabilia and movie-inspired pieces.
From rare collectibles to life-size replicas, his collection is a celebration of the stories and characters that have stayed with him over the years.
The episode also features a conversation with WBRZ’s Madison Smith and Mrs. Port City, who is holding onto one crown while preparing to compete for another.
After winning the Mrs. Port City title, she is now looking ahead to next summer, when she will compete for the title of Miss Louisiana.
Plus, the episode gets a little nutty. The “Nut Mobile” makes an appearance, bringing a fun twist to the episode and giving viewers a look at the iconic vehicle. The larger-than-life peanut-shaped vehicle that travels the country making appearances and bringing Mr. Peanut to life. Viewers will get a closer look at the iconic ride and the story behind its road trips across the country.
And for this week’s One Tank Trip, Angelica Butine heads to a farm right in Baton Rouge’s backyard, where visitors can get up close with capybaras and a variety of other animals.
Alexander Chapple and his family own 11.7 acres of land filled with unique species of animals you may not be familiar with.
When it comes to taking a walk on the wild side, you don't have to go very far, especially for animal encounters.
"We got horses, we got mini cows, we got alpacas, we got goats, capybara‘s, caveys, emu, swines," Chapple said. Right in the town of Prairieville, there are many animals that you can get up close and personal with.
“We also do field trips, farm tours, birthday parties, lots of fun activities for the whole family,” Chapple said.
Expand your knowledge on fruits you may not know exist, like the miracle fruit that temporarily changes your taste buds, or try a fruit that tastes like peanut butter.
Viewers will also get to know another familiar face from the WBRZ team — Team 2 Traffic Specialist Dayla Galmore.
Galmore shares more about her life outside the newsroom, including her passion for coaching cheer and the work she does with young athletes. The conversation gives viewers a chance to see the person behind the traffic updates and learn more about what keeps her busy when she’s not on the clock.
“Positively BR” highlights people, places and experiences across the Capital Area, focusing on the people and stories that make Baton Rouge a great place to live.
