Water line fixed in Plaquemine but boil advisory still in place while tests are reviewed
PLAQUEMINE — A water line break in Plaquemine has been fixed, but some areas are still under a boil advisory until the Louisiana Department of Health says the water is safe.
The City of Plaquemine issued the advisory for the area from South Barrow Street to St. Louis Road after a main water line broke.
The water line has since been repaired and water samples have been collected and submitted to the Louisiana Department of Health for testing.
The boil water advisory remains in effect for the affected area until further notice. Residents and businesses there should boil water before drinking it or using it to prepare food until the city receives clearance from LDH and officially lifts the advisory.
