OXNARD, Calif. — The New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys have both been fined $500,000 by the NFL following multiple altercations during their joint practice Tuesday, according to ESPN Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Schefter reported that the league fined both teams for "the actions that took place at joint practice between the teams earlier this week."

The joint practice reportedly featured several separate brawls between the two NFC teams, with players from both sides involved in multiple altercations.

New Orleans also suffered a significant injury during the practice. Running back Alvin Kamara is expected to miss at least a month after suffering an MCL sprain.

The Saints open the regular season on the road against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Sept. 13.
