BATON ROUGE — Authorities responded to an injured officer near North Sherwood Forest Drive on Saturday morning.

The call went out around 8:50 a.m., with the incident occurring at the intersection of North Sherwood Forest Drive and Glenda Drive, where an officer with the Baton Rouge Police Department was injured while chasing a suspect on foot, according to the police department.

The officer was later transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
