NAPOLEONVILLE – A Napoleonville man has been arrested after allegedly trying to intimidate a witness in an ongoing criminal trial.

According to Assumption Parish deputies, 46-year-old Kentrell Lang made "loud verbal comments towards individuals associated with a trial" outside of the courthouse where the trial was set to begin on Wednesday. Deputies noted that the comments were intimidating, threatening and harassing.

An Assumption spokesperson told WBRZ that Lang ran into the lobby of the courthouse before jury selection for his brother Travis Lang's trial on various drug charges and threatened both witnesses and anyone else involved in the case.

Later that day, Travis Lang entered a guilty plea and will be sentenced at a later date, the spokesperson added.

Kentrell Lang was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on five counts of intimidating, impeding or injuring witnesses, as well as one count of resisting an officer.
