LSU provides update on game day traffic ahead of matchup against Mississippi State
BATON ROUGE — Drivers headed to the LSU game on Saturday may have to search for new routes as traffic will be diverted at several intersections around the school as the Tigers take on the Mississippi Bulldogs.
Officials said that drivers will not be able to access the Ben Hur area from Nicholson Drive and will instead need to use Burbank Drive.
There is no set time for when post-game traffic patterns will begin or end, as it depends on the volume of traffic on the roadways.
Areas affected include Government Street at St. Ferdinand, St. Philip Street and Highland Road at Terrace Avenue on the northside of campus, Dalrymple Drive at East Lakeshore Drive and Stanford Avenue at Baton Rouge Beach/Wampold Park on the eastside of campus and Nicholson Drive at Gardere, Burbank Drive at Lee Drive, Highland Road at Leed Drive and River Road at Brightside Drive on the Southside of campus.
These roads will serve as the general perimeter, with all roads inside being restricted and side streets blocked to prevent cross traffic.
