BATON ROUGE - One of the Capitol region's waterparks, Liberty Lagoon, is opening for its 2026 season this weekend.

From a lazy river to the flow-rider, you can find it all at BREC's Liberty Lagoon off Government Street.

The opening comes after a delayed opening last year.

The waterpark's reopening will also come with newly refurbished slides and "a renewed focus on safety."

The park opens on Saturday, May 23, and will operate daily from noon to 6 p.m. through July.

BREC added that this season, the park will have a new admission model, with entry fees starting at $12 per person.
