DENHAM SPRINGS — The Burgess Road Bridge over West Colyell Creek in Livingston Parish is being replaced, and crews will be working on the project for the next several months.

Crews started work on the $1.87 million project on Monday, July 28. The work is expected to be complete by spring 2026.

Officials said that Burgess Road was not closed until the nearby Lockhart Bridge, which was shut down for a short period by state transportation officials, was fully repaired and back open. A temporary bridge reopened at Lockhart last week.
