Franklin received 41% of the vote, while Landry received 33%. Jeanne Bujol Medine also ran for the seat.

School Board Member, District B

Democrat Catherine Williams has been re-elected to serve District B on the Iberville Parish School Board.

Williams won re-election with 71% of the vote, beating Democrat Tonette Todd.

In her next term as District B board member, Williams said she has five priorities: increasing parent participation, expanding college and career courses, reducing administrative turnover, strengthening special education services and expanding magnet programs.

School Board Member District C

The race for the Iberville Parish School Board’s District C seat is heading for a runoff.

Ursula F. Harris and "Cindy" Wille Prouty will face off in the runoff after receiving 47% and 27% of the vote, respectively. Rachel Crochet also ran in the race to succeed Pamela George as District C board member.

School Board Member District H

Democrat Jasmine Carter has been elected as the Iberville Parish School Board member serving District H.

Carter narrowly beat Democrat Deborah Washington with 50% of the vote to succeed Michael J. Hebert Jr.

Carter secured 781 votes while Washington secured 773.

Carter has taught in Iberville Parish for nine years. She says a primary focus of her time on the board will be advocating for better teacher recruitment and retention, as well as filling student achievement gaps.

Justice of the Peace Ward 2

Democrat Ronald Grace has been elected as Justice of the Peace in Iberville Parish’s Ward 2.

Grace narrowly won the election with 50% of the vote, beating Tameshia Hasten to fill the vacant Ward 2 seat.

Grace secured 1,042 votes while Hasten fell shortly behind with 1,038 votes.

Grace is a two-term St. Gabriel councilman and has served as an active member of several civic organizations for three decades.

Justice of the Peace Ward 5

Democrat Danielle Pugh has been elected to serve as Justice of the Peace in Iberville Parish’s Ward 5, filling a vacant seat.

Pugh beat Republican Karen Saurage with 52% of the vote.

Pugh has lived in Plaquemine for 47 years, watching her mother serve as Justice of the Peace for 12 years. Her mother, Janice Pugh, was the first Black woman to serve as Justice of the Peace, with Pugh being the second.

Justice of the Peace Ward 6

Eugene Simpson has been re-elected as Justice of the Peace in Iberville Parish’s Ward 6.

Simpson, who ran without party affiliation, won the election with 54% of the vote. He beat Democrat Stanley Washington.
