BATON ROUGE — The Baton Rouge Police Department says that its officers have made several citations, misdemeanor summonses and arrests since the start of a crackdown on crime around after-hours clubs in the city.

Operation Impact targets multiple after-hours clubs, including one on North Foster Road and another on Osage Street that was recently shut down due to code violations. This club, Lil Blue House, was the site of a deadly shooting that left a 27-year-old dead.

According to BRPD, citations for drag racing, switched plates, seatbelt violations, illegal window tinting and failure to register one's vehicle have all been issued. Summonses have also been issued for negligent carrying of a handgun and simple possession of marijuana.

Officers have also arrested multiple people for illegal carrying of weapons with controlled substances, as well as possession of marijuana, since the operation started over the weekend.

Several weapons have also been recovered around the clubs, including a stolen firearm. A vehicle stored from drag racing was also towed, as well as a DWI arrest and multiple DWI crashes.

BRPD officials noted that the operation utilizes police drones.
