69-year-old Baton Rouge therapist's corpse found wrapped in tarp Sunday in Tangipahoa Parish
FLUKER — A man's corpse wrapped in a tarp was found Sunday on the side of U.S. 51, the Tangipahoa Sheriff's Office said.
The TPSO said the victim was 69-year-old therapist William Nicholas Abraham of Baton Rouge. The cause of death was determined to be a homicide and the manner of death is blunt force trauma.
“Obviously we have to wait on the coroner for the cause of death. It was a very physical scene for lack of better words. There was a lot of blunt force trauma and a lot of injury to this individual," Sheriff Gerald Sticker said.
Deputies say just before 8 a.m. Sunday a caller reported a suspicious rolled-up tarp on the side of U.S. 51 between Fluker and Tangipahoa.
Detectives are actively working on this case and are focusing their work first on determining where this homicide occurred.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation.
