BATON ROUGE - Officials with the Baton Rouge Police Department say a man has been arrested in connection with a fatal early morning shooting on Pocasset Street, which is between Mohican Street and Wyandotte Street in north Baton Rouge.

Michael Creel Jr., 31, has been accused of shooting 25-year-old Daniel Lewis, Wednesday morning, around 3:10 a.m.

Police say a thorough investigation of the incident revealed that Lewis had apparently paid for a massage and Creel drove the massage therapist to Lewis' home.

According to a police report, as Creel dropped off the therapist, Lewis came outside and helped her unload her massage table and bring it into his home.

Police say an unidentified man also assisted the two in unloading her table, while Creel remained in the SUV.

But, when Lewis and the unidentified man returned to the SUV, Creel, who was still sitting inside of the vehicle, allegedly began shooting at them.

The gunfire hit Lewis, fatally injuring him. Police say Creel immediately sped away in the SUV.

But Baton Rouge Police and members of The Louisiana State Police Fugitive Task Force worked hand in hand to locate and arrest Creel.

He was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for second-degree murder.
