BATON ROUGE- A man is locked up, accused of breaking into at least six homes in and around the Kenilworth area of Baton Rouge. In all of the cases, the back doors of the homes were kicked in and items were missing.

Baton Rouge Police said surveillance video led to the arrest of 48-year-old Thomas Sneed. Sneed has a lengthy criminal history with at least 24 arrests over a 22-year period for theft, armed robberies and burglaries.

Rick Bourdier was one of the victims. His home of 22 years was broken into this year.

"You feel violated," Bourdier said. "You never recover. We don't feel the same in the house even to this day."

He said he came home and found his back door kicked in. He said jewelry, electronics, and other items were missing.

"In life, I try to live by the golden rule," Bourdier said. "Just treat everyone like they would want to be treated. He certainly wouldn't want that or any of his loved ones treated like that. It's just a horrible thing and you have to look at yourself...and whoever's stuff you're going after they had to work for their stuff."

People are now installing surveillance cameras to have another set of eyes in the area when they aren't home. That surveillance is what led authorities to Sneed.

Meanwhile, Sneed remains locked up on a $28,000 bond in the East Baton Rouge Parish jail.
