WALKER – Cell phones have been confiscated in what appears to be an investigation involving inappropriate behavior of football coaches in this Livingston Parish town, WBRZ has learned.

Walker High School head football coach Lester Ricard and defensive coordinator Marcus Brown resigned Monday. Sources said the coaches are at the center of the law enforcement investigation.

A school district spokesperson declined to release specifics about the resignations, but confirmed the men quit their jobs Monday. Law enforcement also declined to give details about a potential investigation but sources told WBRZ, investigators had contacted parents of young women and spent time on the Walker High School campus over the last few days.

The WBRZ Investigative Unit spoke with multiple people close to the case. The group spoke with Chief Investigator Chris Nakamoto on condition of anonymity. WBRZ has made an editorial decision not to identify the people who spoke with the journalism team.

Sources said the investigation surrounds complaints of suggestive comments or messages.

Victims, sources said, are nervous and afraid of retaliation.

“Football is what Walker High is all about,” a source said.
