Authorities arrest father of 4-year-old shot
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Police say they arrested the father of a 4-year-old killed last week.
News outlets report that the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office said Tuesday they had arrested 27-year-old Kamara Wylie.
Authorities have described the girl's death last Thursday as an accidental shooting. She was shot with a handgun. St. Bernard Parish Sheriff James Pohlmann says in a news release that Wylie was brought to jail on charges of negligent homicide, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of marijuana.
Pohlmann says Wylie was arrested after officers reviewed witness statements and examined physical evidence and after consulting the district attorney's office.
