East Baton Rouge Sheriff's deputies are on the lookout for a man who fled the scene of a house fire, allegedly due to meth.
Deputies responded to the fire on Saturday March 6, at 276 Bonnie Drive. The fire was confined to one room in the house.
No one was hurt.
At the scene detectives found several items that are used in making meth.
Laura Harmon, a resident of the home, was next door during the fire. When deputies spoke with her she was found in possession of marijuana and Soma pills. She was arrested and booked on drug possession charges.
Harmon told detectives that following the explosion, she observed Michael Wesley Blount, the occupant of the room with the fire, jump over the fence and flee in an unknown direction.
Anyone with information concerning this incident or the whereabouts of Blount is asked to contact the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office at 225-389-5000.
